Victorinox launches travel gear in India

New Delhi, Feb. 13 Victorinox India, the domestic arm of the multi-brand company, has introduced its travel gear in India to keep up with the buoyant travel segment in the country. The company is also mulling to expand its range into the apparel segment by next year.

The company, which has been retailing the flagship product, Swiss Army Knives’, and watches in India through six exclusive stores spread across metros, plans to increase its foothold here by adding 10 new stores by the end of this calendar year.

“The travel line has been designed keeping the demand from the industry. It will be positioned as a premium brand,” Victorinox India Managing Director Mr Anish Goel said.

The company expects its topline in the country to more than double during the current calendar year with a major part of revenues coming from the newly-launched travel gear.

The company had closed last year with a topline of Rs 18 crore. It expects the travel gear to add another Rs 25 crore to revenues during the current year.Victornox’s travel line starts at a price point of Rs 2,000 and moving up to Rs 15,000 upward.
