Software NIIT Tech to offer SaaS Mumbai, Feb. 14 NIIT Technologies is getting into the ‘Software as a Service’ delivery model, which will enable its clients to pay as they use IT services and thereby cut costs. To start off with, the move will bring yearly business of minimum Rs 10 crore to NIIT, the company CEO, Mr Arvind Thakur, said at a press conference here at the NASSCOM Leadership Summit. SaaS is a method of selling software in which a vendor or service provider hosts the applications and makes them available to customers as a service, rather than as a product. “Customers can avail of a minimum 30 per cent savings in cost by adopting the SaaS model,” added Mr Thakur. The company has tied up with a data centre company to host their services. Christened ‘ProcureEasy’, the first Saas offering from the NIIT stable will address the procurement process needs of large enterprises. By the first quarter of the next fiscal, NIIT will launch SaaS offerings related to payroll management, human resources management, sales and distribution and others, added Mr Thakur. - Our Bureau More Stories on : Software
