‘Science Express’ arrives in Vizag

Hyderabad, Feb. 17 A mobile train exhibition, ‘Science Express’, has arrived in Andhra Pradesh with an objective of encouraging the youth to understand the excitement of careers in teaching and research in the different streams of science.

The Express, which was flagged off in Delhi on October 30, 2007, to stop at 55 cities across the country, arrived on Sunday in Visakhapatnam and would be at Vijayawada between February 20 and 22, in Hyderabad between February 23 and 27, and in Guntur on February 28.

Searching for answers

The train, a mobile science exhibition, has air-conditioned coaches equipped with large screen displays for an audio-visual experience and interactive computers. It has 30 science educators on-board to give explanations about the exhibits to the visitors.

The exhibition is being jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, and the Government of India in association with the Max Planck Society, Germany, according to a release.
