Regulatory Bodies & Rulings FMC plans to increase staff strength Suresh P. Iyengar Mumbai, Feb 18 Armed with the autonomous status through an ordinance, the commodity markets regulator Forward Markets Commission (FMC) has plans to shore up staff strength. FMC has taken the temping or temporary staffing (temps) route for personal secretary level, while 11 directors and deputy directors for law, accounts finance, information technology, economist and market analyst will be appointed directly at Group ‘A’ level. For temps, FMC has called for application from placement agencies with over five years of experience. Without revealing the number of candidates to be appointed, Mr Bharat Tripathi, Director (Administration), FMC said: “Quotations are invited from reputed placement agencies/ service providers having more than 5 years’ experience in the field for providing personnel for the post of “personal secretaries”. Individual candidates have been told not apply directly, said the FMC Web site. “The antecedents of the candidates before being nominated shall be verified by the service provider/ placement agency and a detailed report of the same shall be submitted to the FMC,” the regulator said. Pact with provider onlyThe candidates so nominated shall not have any right of employment with government and FMC shall not enter into any agreement/ contract with the persons so provided. “The contract of FMC shall be only with the service provider and placement agency in this regard,” it said. The package payable to candidates shall be the responsibility of the service provider/ placement agency. In a bid to protect staff interest, FMC has noted: “The service provider / placement agency shall ensure that the payments to the candidates so nominated are paid on seventh of every month.
