Weighing options

The school, however, has not zeroed in on any location for the proposed campus.

Hyderabad, Feb 20 The Government of Andhra Pradesh has offered land and infrastructure to Indian School of Business (ISB) in Tirupati to set up its second campus.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, made this announcement at a felicitation programme for ISB held here on Tuesday to mark its ranking as top 20th business school in the world by Financial Times recently.

The Chief Minister had asked Mr Rammohan Rao, Dean of ISB, to take up the issue with the board of governors of the Hyderabad-based business school.

Thanking Dr Reddy for his offer, Mr Rao said the matter would be discussed at the next board meeting to be held in April.

In an interview to Business Line earlier, Mr Rao said there had been a consensus in ISB’s board that an additional campus in India was highly required keeping in view the growing image of the school.

The school, however, has not zeroed in on any location for the proposed campus and was currently weighing various options. To cater to the growing demand from the corporate world, the school would also ramp up its class strength from the current 425 to 560 from 2009-10.
