Awards & Honours Kanan Devan reaps rich haul at tea tasting contest Our Bureau Coimbatore, Feb. 20 A panel of internationally renowned tea tasters evaluated the 62 short-listed entries that qualified for the second level of screening and announced the Golden Leaf India Award winning teas at the Global Dubai Tea Forum 2008 this afternoon. Ms Priya Kumar, Director (Tea Promotion), Tea Board of India, Dubai gave away the certificate to the winners. According to a release from the United Planters Association of Southern IndiaKanan Devan Hills Plantations Company bagged the award in 4 categories, while Harrisons Malayalam, United Nilgiri Tea Estates Co and Devon Plantations and Industries Ltd won 3 each. Puthuthotam Estates (1943) Ltd, Kolukumalai Tea Estate, Riverside Tea Plantations and Pullikanam Estate won 2 each and Kairbetta Estate Syndicate, Parkside Estate, Anai Mudi Tea Factory, Vigneshwar Estate Tea Factory, Rousdonmullai Tea Estates Pvt Ltd, Ripon Estate and Arnakal Estate bagged one each.
