Allahabad Bank's relief for poultry farmers

Kolkata, Feb. 22

Allahabad Bank has initiated relief measures for poultry farmers affected by bird flu in West Bengal. The decision has been taken keeping in view of the largescale culling of birds, a steep fall in demand for poultry products, and in their prices leading to loss of income, said a statement. The relief measures include conversion of principal and interest due on working capital loans into term loans as well as rescheduling of instalment and interest on term loans extended to poultry units financed by the bank. The farmers can also avail of fresh needbased finance for recommendation of their activity after three months from the date of the outbreak.-Our Bureau
