`Discovery' bags national award
Hyderabad, Feb 26
`Discovery', a monthly science magazine being published
from here, has won the National Award for Outstanding
Efforts in Science and Technology Communication in
Print Media for the year 2007. The award is instituted by
the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of
Science Technology, Government of India. The
publication, which started in Telugu initially, is now
being published in Hindi and English. Efforts were on to
bring out the magazine in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam,
Marathi and Urdu, according to a release. The award,
which carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a letter of
appreciation and memento, will be presented on
February 28, 2008 during Science Day celebrations in
