NIIT Tech buys German co SofTec

New Delhi, Feb. 28

NIIT Technologies Limited today announced the acquisition of Germany-based SofTec GmbH, a specialist in IT solutions and services in the airline revenue accounting and operations space. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening NIIT Technologies' presence in the travel, transportation and logistics vertical.

The new company would be a wholly-owned subsidiary of NIIT Technologies Ltd, India, a company statement said but did not divulge the size of the transaction. ". SofTec's industry specialisation and access to the complete portfolio of NIIT Technologies' services will enhance value to our customer base", Mr Peter Oncken, Managing Director of Softec, said. - Our Bureau
