LIC to offer non-life cover

Kakinada, March 1

LIC will soon emerge as a provider of many non-life insurance products, according to Mr. S Viswanathan, the south central zonal manager. He was speaking here on Friday evening after the new branch building of the LIC was inaugurated by the District Collector, Mr M. Subrahmanyam, and the Mayor, Ms K. Saroja.He said the LIC had already made a mark in the health insurance sector. The LIC was still the dominant player in the market and was fully ready to face the competition f rom the private players, he added. He said the LIC south central zone, comprising Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, had been set a target of 74 lakh policies this financial year and 60 per cent of it had been achieved.—
