Industry & Economy - Budget
Fantastic

Mr P Chidambaram, deserves appreciation from all walks of life, since he has presented a fantastic Budget, which was not anticipated by any body. Even eminent economic annalists have admitted that they never anticipated the Budget will be so nice. He has really done a great job as far as personal income-tax is concerned. He has reciprocated the people for their good response in terms of direct tax exceeding the budgeted figures during 2007-08. So, now it is very clear that once the rate of taxes are slashed, people will automatically respond positively and come forward voluntarily to pay the taxes, without thinking of evasion even for a while. I am 100 per cent sure that the next financial year 2008-09, Government will get direct tax revenue more than their budgeted figure, since people prefer to pay taxes, whenever the rates are so less.
