REC gets new chief

New Delhi, March 3

Mr P. Uma Shankar, an IAS officer of the 1976 batch, has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director of the State-owned Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd from March 1. He succeeds Mr Anil Kumar Lakhina, who has since retired, a company release said. Prior to joining REC, Mr Shankar was holding the charge of Managing Director in National Cooperatives Development Corporation. - Our Bureau
