Morning scene from a paddy field near Thrissur in Kerala. The Union Budget’s debt relief measures will be a boon to roughly four lakh farmers in the Kerala. Majority of them are marginal (holding below one hectare) and small (below two hectares) and their debts are being written off. The farmers of Wayanad and Idukki will benefit the most from the scheme.
