EL AL Airlines picks Ramco solution

Chennai, March 5

EL AL Airlines, Israel’s national airlines, has selected Ramco Systems’ aviation software solution, Ramco Aviation, to manage the entire maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircrafts.

The Chennai-based software company will provide its software to EL AL Airlines that has 39 aircraft, including cargo carriers in its fleet.

It is also looking at similar orders from airlines in African countries, including Egypt, Mr Kamesh Ramamoorthy, Chief Operating Officer, Ramco Systems, told Business Line.

He did not share the deal size. Mr Ramamoorthy said globally Ramco now has 27 customers in the aviation sector. This includes Columbia Helicopters, Petroleum Helicopters, Gulf helicopters, Spice Jet, Indian Airlines, Caribbean Airlines and Virgin America.

Aviation contributes around 20 per cent of Ramco’s global revenues. Ramco aviation is marketed, implemented and supported directly and also through its partner, Saber.
