Symposium on coastal Karnataka

Mangalore, March 9

A one-day symposium on `Development of coastal Karnataka: A historical view' will be conducted at Mangalore University on March 12.

A press statement said here that experts will present papers on `Development of agriculture and tourism' and also `Role of civil society' at the symposium. Sponsored by the State Department of Archives, the symposium will be organised by the Department of Economics at Mangalore University. Dr Usha Suresh, Secretary of Department of Archives, will inaugurate the symposium and Dr N.K. Thingalaya, Professor Emeritus, Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte, will deliver the keynote address. Prof G.V. Joshi, who has carried out many research projects in different parts of coastal Karnataka, will be the symposium director. - Our Bureau
