Airlines SIA plans to start twice-a-week morning flights from Delhi Our Bureau New Delhi, March 10 Singapore Airlines (SIA) is planning to start a twice-a-week morning flight from Delhi to Singapore from March 30 and hopes to increase the frequency of this operation in the near future. Addressing a press conference the Airline General Manager, India, Mr C.W. Foo, said that the new flight would operate every Friday and Sunday — with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft providing seating to 288 passengers in first, business and economy class. The new flight is in addition to the daily service that the airline already operates between Delhi and Singapore. “We are hopeful that the Government of India and Singapore will fast track the implementation of the bilateral agreement that would allow us to further increase our flights. We would be keen to operate twice a day from Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi,” Mr Foo added. At the moment while the airline operates a daily flight (twice a day) only from Mumbai, it has double daily flights on some days of the week from both Bangalore and Chennai. The launch of the morning flight from Delhi would provide immediate connections to destinations in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, airline officials said. The airline currently operates 55 flights to eight Indian cities. More Stories on : Airlines
