IT tower: Lanco Hills ropes in Sembawang

Work on Rs 50-cr project to start in a month’s time

Hyderabad, March 10 Lanco Hills Technology Park, part of the Lanco Group, executing IT parks and Special Economic Zones, has roped in the services of Sembawang Infrastructure India, part of a Singapore firm, for constructing an IT Tower in Lanco Hills.

Lanco Hills Technology Park and Sembawang Infrastructure India on Monday signed an agreement for execution of the structural work of Tower 9 for the SEZ IT Park.

The agreement for a tower worth Rs 50 crore was signed by Mr S. Pochendar, Chief Executive Officer of Lanco Hills, and Mr J.D. Stuart Macaskie, Managing Director of Sembawang, in Hyderabad.

The Lanco Hills mega project is coming up in an 108-acre site in Hyderabad and includes IT parks, residential towers, malls and multiplexes, hotels, recreation and many futuristic amenities. The company has planned one of the tallest residential structure featuring over 100 floors in the park.

Mr Pochendar in a statement said: “We are developing 8 million sq ft of office space in the IT Park spread over 12 towers of SEZ and non-SEZ areas. Out of this, the first non SEZ Tower with 4 lakh sq ft is already under construction and is expected to be ready in a year.”

‘Milestone project’

“The first SEZ Tower with 30 floors will have 9 lakh sq ft of office space and the work order has been given to Sembawang. We expect the work to start in a month’s time. When completed, this whole project will be one of its kind,” he said.

Mr Macaskie of Sembawang said: “The work order for the first SEZ tower marks an important milestone for future orders in this project.”
