Plans on to market jute insoles

Kolkata, March 10

Texon International and the city-based APL Polyfabs (P) Ltd, manufacturer of footwear components, have recently signed a universal agreement to market and further develop `Renotex' Jute Board for footwear insoles and other applications. Talking to Business Line, Mr Mani Almal, Managing Director of ABL Polyfab, said the project, which promotes use of natural fibres, had an initial investment of Rs 2 crore. He said Renotex-R was a flexible range suitable for insoles, strobel for safety shoes and matting, whereas Renotex-P is mouldable with ecofriendly resin and rubbers suitable for foot-beds and some premium ranges of expensive footwear. - Our Bureau
