Bio-tech & Genetics States - Andhra Pradesh 2-day symposium on bio-nanotechnology in Hyderabad from tomorrow Our Bureau Hyderabad, March 11 A large contingent of researchers from the Purdue University, US will be participating in a two-day national symposium on “Bionanotechnology and Pharmaceuticals” starting here on March 13. The symposium being hosted by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) here has attracted over 100 researchers and students from across the world. The focus of the meeting would be on the advances in nanotechnologies, related to drug delivery, new materials, micro devices, implications in new biology and fabrication among other issues. Bionanotechnology offers new approaches to the field of medicine, ranging from advanced engineering of tissues and organs to nano delivery models at the single cell level for pharmaceuticals, a press release from CCMB said. A Purdue contingent had signed an agreement with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in February, 2007 to establish research collaborations and exchanges of researchers, students and faculty between Purdue and Indian Institutions. A lead discussion on `Novel formulations, tissue engineering and tools of nanoscience are changing our world’s healthcare system’ would be held. The symposium would also attempt to foster new links and new possibilities in the next frontier of health and medicine, the release added. More Stories on : Bio-tech & Genetics | Andhra Pradesh
