Karur Vysya Bank’s new services by June

Our Correspondent

Tiruchi, March 11

Karur Vysya Bank Ltd will introduce two new services — door-step banking and quick cash remittance — by June.

These services would be offered through 25 to 30 branches on a pilot basis, the bank Chairman, Mr P.T. Kuppuswamy, told newspersons here. All the 285 branches of the bank, including the newly inaugurated Suriyur Branch at the Anna University - Tiruchi, have been networked through core banking, he said.

There are about one lakh customers under mobile banking, Mr Kuppuswamy said, informing that the bank was poised to achieve its targeted turnover of Rs 21,000 crore — Rs 12,000 crore deposits and Rs 9,000 crore advances — this fiscal.

The bank would start branches abroad only after increasing its branch network in the country to 500 over the next two years, he said.
