New Products & Services Voltas unveils new range of ACs Our Bureau New Delhi, March 12 Voltas, a Tata Group company, has introduced a new range of air-conditioners in the premium and the luxury segment. Among the new models include corner air-conditioner Vertis Pristine, which has been introduced for the first time in India. The triangular shaped AC has been designed to fit discreetly on the wall in the corner of a room. 42 modelsThe company is also betting big on star rated air-conditioners. It has announced 42 new models this year. The air-conditioner market, estimated to be 20 lakh units, is growing at 30 per cent per annum. The company has a 17 per cent market share. Voltas aims to increase sales of its air-conditioners by as much as 45-50 per cent by next year. It will also maintain its price level, despite rising steel prices. “We are aiming at 525,000 air-conditioners, which is going to take us to 20 per cent market share from current level of 17 per cent in an industry size of 2.6 million,” Mr Pradeep Bakshi, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, said at the news conference. The company has earmarked Rs 30 crore towards branding and promotions. It is also looking to increase its channel partners from 3,000 to 4000 by next year.
