Gangtok, March 13 The Sikkim Chief Minister, Mr Pawan Chamling has said that the efforts of his Government to project Sikkim as one of the most progressive States in the country is bearing fruits.

He said this while addressing mediapersons at the Saramsa Garden near Ranipool here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister was unveiling the programme for the first International Flower Show, scheduled to begin from March 14 to 16 at the Saramsa garden.

While maintaining that one of the main objectives of the festival is to gainfully utilise the potentials of the State’s rich natural resources including floriculture and agriculture and also galvanise the marketing of the local products, Mr Chamling said that this international event was also a chance to showcase Sikkim’s floriculture potential to the rest of the world.

“Sikkim is a happening State,” he added.

Mr Chamling said that the floriculture potential of the State will give Sikkim a distinct identity.
