New Products & Services Food Empire launches instant coffee, ice tea in Chennai Our Bureau Chennai, March 14 Singapore-based food and beverage company Food Empire Holdings on Thursday launched its instant coffee brand, ‘Melosa’, in Chennai. Announcing the launch, Mr Pradeep Chauhan, Senior Manager, Marketing, Food Empire Holdings Ltd, said ‘Melosa’ is an effort to bring convenience into our everyday life. “The brand has been created taking into consideration the requirements and tastes of Indian consumers,” he said. Melosa is an instant 3-in-1 coffee which means a pre-mix of coffee, creamer and sugar. Food Empire also launched ‘ice tea’ on Thursday. Both the products are now available in five-sachet and 10-sachet packs. Though, initially the company plans to import the products from Singapore but would consider setting up a facility here once the demand picks up. The company’s range of products, which include regular and flavoured coffee mixes and cappuccinos, instant chocolate, and snack foods such as breakfast cereal, potato chips and other beverages are currently marketed in over 15 countries including Russia, Ukraine, Iran Turkey, Belgium and Vietnam. In India, to start with, Melosa will be available in the Chennai market then in other cities in the State. “We will roll out the brand in other States in phases.
