Market closes strong
Chennai, March 14
The Sensex moved up on Friday, the last trading day of the week and gathered nearly 400-points, thanks to fundamentally strong stocks that were available at lower prices.
The main share index, which lost nearly 770 points yesterday, managed to pare the losses during the closing hours. It settled at 15760.52 points today. Metal, realty and refinery counteres fascinated the market players. Likewise, the Nifty advanced 122.20 points and ended up at 4745.80.
Reliance stocks belonging to both the Ambani groups performed well. Steel stocks were strong. Almost all sectoral indices were on the rise today.
