Hyderabad IT summit from tomorrow

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, March 18 The Department of Information Technology and Communication, Andhra Pradesh Government, and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries are hosting a three-day Hyderabad IT Summit 2008, that seeks to showcase Hyderabad and the State as an investment destination.

During the event to be hosted at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre during March 20-22, a report entitled ‘Andhra Pradesh- The New Frontier for IT investments’ is to be released.

As a part of the summit proceedings, the Government would also hand over awards of excellence for the best performance in IT and ITeS (IT-enabled services) sectors for the year 2006-07.

Over the last few years, the State Government in league with the Dubai World Trade Centre hosted ‘Gitex’ during the second week of January. However, this year, Gitex was not hosted, and instead it paved way for this summit. The theme of the summit centres on ‘Empowering IT with world class infrastructure’.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, will deliver the inaugural address in the presence of representatives of the IT sector, including the Chairman of Satyam Computer, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, and the Chairman of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, Mr Sanjiv Narayan.
