Symposium on climate change
Thiruvananthapuram, March 18
The British Council, Chennai, the Association of
British Scholars, Thiruvananthapurm, and the
Kerala Agricultural University, are co-hosting a national
symposium on `Climate change and low carbon future'
here on March 28.
Announcing this, Dr A.K. Sherief of
the College of Agriculture-Vellayani and organising
secretary, said that the primary aim of the symposium
would be education and outreach. It would also seek to
raise awareness, understanding and public acceptance of
environment, climate change and a low carbon future.
Another objective is to build support for Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM) activities in the State as
well as the country at large. An exhibition on global
warming and climate change is being arranged by the
State unit of the WWF. - Our Bureau
