Eastern Condiments bags award for exports

Kochi, March 19 Eastern Condiments (P) Ltd, the spice powder and masala manufacturer, has bagged the award for the highest performance in export of spices powders and masala mixes during the financial year 2006-07 from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.

The award will be presented to the company along with awards for other winners at a national level function organised by the Spices Board.

Eastern has bagged the largest exporter award of blended spices in consumer packs for the 10th year in succession, Mr M.E. Meeran Chairman, Eastern Group, said.

The award is a testimony of the global standards set by the company in quality and manufacturing processes, he said. The company has taken several initiatives to expand the footprint of Eastern Brand to newer territories in coming year, he said adding that it is also in the process of completing its capacity enhancement which will make it the single largest spices processing plant for spice powders.

Eastern Condiments is part of the Rs 260-crore Eastern Group having diversified business interests in areas such as pre cured tread rubber, rubberised coir mattresses, apparels, packaged drinking water, education and wind mills as alternate sources of energy.
