Airlines Corporate - Announcements Warren Buffett’s NetJets comes to India Our Bureau Mumbai, March 19: Private jet firm NetJets is starting operations in India and declared its strategic partnership with a local partner in the country . The company engaged Mr Ashish Chordia, CEO of Shreyans, for the same who represents luxury brands such as Porsche and Fendi in India. NetJets sells fractional ownership in private jets to individuals and companies and operates more than 750 aircraft currently. It is a unit of billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. With strong economic growth and rising incomes in Asia, West Asia and Latin America in the offing, the company feels demand for private aviation will grow in these regions. “In India, wealth creation is taking place at a phenomenal pace,” said Mr John Colucci, Executive Vice-President, addressing a press conference. There has been a 400 per cent increase in the number of NetJets business flights to and from India in the last four years, Mr Colucci said, adding the firm will be targeting high net worth individuals as well as businesses in India.
