Outsourcing Industry & Economy - Medical & Surgical Equipments States - Karnataka Teleradiology Solutions moves into training Our Bureau Bangalore, March 19 Radiology BPO, Teleradiology Solutions, has announced that it has extended into training in teleradiology and a host of advanced skills for radiologists, doctors, IT personnel and several others involved in healthcare. Its teleradiology centre, Rad Gurukul, located in the company’s campus in Whitefield here, will offer periodic training for its own personnel and others through short courses, according to Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, founder and Chief Executive Officer of the six-year-old Teleradiology Solutions. The Biocon Chairman and Managing Director, Ms Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, inaugurated the facility. The facility costing around Rs 2 crore includes a 90-seater auditorium with videoconferencing for courses and workshops. Teleradiology is already training resident doctors of Narayana Hrudayalaya and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences. The first short programme is set for April 4 and registrations are coming in from the Gulf, Malaysia, Singapore, Nigeria among others, he said. The country has an acute healthcare manpower shortage and there are only 10,000 radiologists in the country compared to 25,000 in a much smaller country such as the UK, Dr Kalyanpur said. “Radiology is a niche area and we are today facing an acute shortage of qualified employable talent in India, which includes healthcare personnel involved in teleradiology, IT, technologists and doctors trained in telemedicine. Superior training can bridge this gap and help establish India as a hub for high quality teleradiology and telemedicine services.” More Stories on : Outsourcing | Medical & Surgical Equipments | Health | Karnataka
