NTPC thermal project in Assam

New Delhi, March 19

Power major NTPC Ltd will invest Rs 4,375.35 crore for setting up a coal-based thermal power project of 750 MW (3x250 MW) at Salakati in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The project is slated to come up at the site of the existing non-operational Bongaigaon thermal power station (4x60 MW). According to an official release issued on Wednesday, an agreement has been executed between NTPC, the Government of Assam and Assam Power Generation Corporation (APGCL) for transferring the existing infrastructure of the Bongaigaon power station to NTPC. —
