NH-9 in AP to be expanded

Hyderabad, March 20

The Hyderabad-Machilipatnam section of National Highway-9 in Andhra Pradesh will soon be expanded into a four-lane road. The National Highways Authority of India had taken up the four-laning of the section on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis under National Highway Development Project (NHDP), phase III. The work on a 31-km stretch from Hyderabad to Sangareddy is in progress at present and the entire work would be completed by December 2011, according to an official release. The consultancy services for examining the viability of 4/6 laning of Sangareddy - Zaheerabad section of NH-(on Design, Build, Finance and Operate) pattern was in progress, the release added. - Our Bureau
