The article on the US economy’s slowdown (Business Line, March 20), while a pleasure to read, was kind of scary to read, indicating as it did an impending economic crisis in the US. What can we foresee in the US economy in the near future and how seriously will it impact the Indian economy are questions that need serious attention. Is India heading towards an economic crisis similar to the sub-prime crisis, given the current boom in the real estate sector in India, is a thought that crosses one’s mind.
