Our Bureau New Delhi, March 25 GAIL (India) Ltd has set a target of transmitting around 81.5 million standard cubic metre of gas per day (mmscmd) in 2008-09. According to the annual performance memorandum of understanding signed with the Government on Tuesday, during the financial year 2008-09 the company has targeted for gas transmission of around 81.5 mmscmd of natural gas from domestic sources and through liquefied natural gas (LNG) route. The MoU includes a gas marketing target of around 70 mmscmd. According to a statement issued by the company, the MoU also provides for an ‘excellent’ production target of 390 TMT of polymers (HDPE & LLDPE) and 1,260 TMT of liquid hydrocarbons. The company’s performance will be assessed on key financial parameters and also on dynamic and sector/enterprise-specific parameters such as gas sourcing, exploration and production and CBM, city gas projects, and pipeline projects implementation, among others. The MoU was signed between Mr M.S. Srinivasan, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, and Mr U.D. Choubey, Chairman and Managing Director, GAIL.
