Maharashtra, Universal group sign MoU

Pune, March 25 Pune-based Universal Construction Equipment and Machinery Pvt Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State Government for additional manufacturing facility at Shivare.

The MoU was signed by Mr V.K. Jairath, Secretary (Industries, Government of Maharashtra ) and Mr Ranjeet More (Managing Director, Universal Construction Machinery & Equipment Pvt Ltd).

According to an official release, with this, the Rs 150-crore Universal Group would expand and set up its additional manufacturing facility of 50,000 sq ft at Shivare named Phase II.

In the coming year, Universal plans to manufacture transit mixers, tower cranes, concrete batching plants, reversible drum mixer, concrete pump and mini dumpers and will create employment for more than 500 people.

Initially, Universal plans to roll out its newly launched product “Transit Mixers” and reversible drum mixer from its additional facility. The target is to produce 50 transit mixers per month.

Production

Also with the new manufacturing facility, the production of reversible drum Mixer would go up from 100 to 200 per month. The initial investment would be Rs 58 crore, which would go up to a total of Rs 232 crore in five years.

The total space required for the proposed expansion is 25 acres. Recently, the company had despatched 21 concrete mixers to the US.
