Undeserved largesse

Indian citizens are shocked that the government staff will now get 40-60 per cent pay hike, a populist move with the general elections round the corner. Our gallant jawans and winners of the Param Vir Chakra, the highest military honour, get a maximum of Rs 1,500 per month.

What an irony! The latter lay down their precious lives and sacrifice everything, including friends , family life and all other personal relations, for protecting the citizens, including several corrupt bureaucrats, MPs, MLAs, corporates and gram sevaks against enemies and sponsored terrorism, while the latter group largely furthers its own vested interests!.
