IIT-K students bag coveted jobs

Kolkata, March 26

Vantage 2008, the annual recruitment programme of the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), IIT Kharagpur, ended with the batch bagging coveted placements. With multiple offers made to students, there was a 30 per cent increase in the average compensation levels, notwithstanding the sizeable batch strength of 121 students. While the domestic average stands at Rs 11.44 lakh per annum, the median is an impressive Rs 10.32 lakh. The highest domestic compensation offered was Rs 18 lakh p.a. while the average international compensation was $70,000. Among first-time recruiters were Lehman Brothers, Yes Bank, Knox Capital, Angel Broking, Schlumberger, Deloitte Consulting, Bombay Dyeing and Reliance ADAG. - Our Bureau
