Tea Dust teas ease at Kochi sale Our Bureau Kochi, March 27 Prices of dust teas generally eased at the Kochi tea auction, while leaf tea auction witnessed mixed trends. The presence of exporters and inter-state buyers generated good general demand. The price of CTC dust varieties fell Rs 2-3, high priced teas also quoted lower while orthodox high grown dust remained steady to dearer. Medium orthodox varieties remained barely steady. Medium bolder CTC varieties witnessed good demand from exporters, while blenders lent useful support. There was 10,87,000 kg of dust tea on offer at the auction. Best CTC varieties fetched Rs 63-74, medium CTC quoted Rs 58-62 and below medium was at Rs 50-55. High grown BOPD varieties were at Rs 114-118, medium BOPD ranged at Rs 49-52 and secondaries fetched Rs 43. Leaf SaleHigh grown orthodox leaf grades were steady, good high grown varieties were dearer, especially the whole leaf grades. Medium orthodox grades quoted lower by Rs 3-5, while medium whole leaf grades were up Rs 2-5. Plain orthodox grades were also dearer. Prices of CTC varieties eased by Re 1-Rs 2 and orthodox grades witnessed better demand from exporters. CTCs witnessed good domestic demand from inter-State buyers as well as from exporters.
