New Projects Intersil Corp sets up design centre in Hyderabad Our Bureau Hyderabad, March 27 Intersil Corporation, a Nasdaq-listed designer and manufacturer of analog semiconductors, on Thursday announced the setting of its design centre in Hyderabad, its second in India after Bangalore and one among the 10 spread across the globe. The company has filed about six patents in the last two years. The Vice-President of Technology, Intersil Corporation, Mr Carlos Laber, said the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region is expanding and the office will help attract top design talent. Addressing a press conference along with the Intersil team, including Mr Roger Lebison, Vice-President, Design Engineering, the company officials said that the developers in India are engaged in full product development which has led to the release of some global products. The design centre called Intersil Analog Services, located in the Hitech City, maintains a large concentration of technology companies and suits the analog design work, they said. The company is working on areas such as power management for chips, next generation product such as multi-cell battery chargers and for hybrid vehicles.
