Events Web Extras - IPR Bringing in Silicon Valley culture of mentoring Our Bureau Hyderabad, March 28 Technology professionals come together to create Silicon Valley like culture mentoring and collaborating with start-ups in their efforts to develop Intellectual Property and thereafter help them take them to market. At a meeting hosted by the Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA) in the IIIT-Hyderabad premises, senior professionals from the technology sector along with venture capital community interacted with companies with promise to take some of their innovations to the next level and guide them in marketing initiatives. The President of HYSEA, Mr Anil Jampala, said that Hysea, IIIT-H, Indian School of Business and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Hyderabad chapter, will work collaboratively nurturing ideas and helping them with beta testing of their products with the user communities. The Director of Cordys Software India, Mr M. S. Ramanathan, who was instrumental in setting up Indian operations of Dutch technology solutions provider Baan, shared his experiences of how a start-up is groomed into a full fledged company, and said help was on hand through experts willing to share their experiences and also help them connect with people who matter.
The Indian technology sector has established its power as a major IT services provider for the globe and it was time to replicate this success with new products and IP creation. There are about 1,000 companies in India with products and it was time to see that they go to the market, Mr Suheim Sheik, Global Practice Head, Capital Markets, 3i Infotech, said. Mr Anil Jampala said that the Andhra Pradesh Government is in the process of creating a separate special economic zone SEZ) to support the needs of small and medium sized enterprises. While the land has been allotted by the Government for this project, the industry is awaiting necessary directions from the State.
