LBi International forays into India

Mumbai, March 28 Online digital marketing agency LBi International has forayed into the Indian market. The company is positioning India as the hub for its Asia Pacific initiatives and has earmarked upto $10 million (in the first round) for funding operations in the country, Mr Nand Kapadia, CEO and Managing Director of LBi India, told Business Line.

The Euronext-listed LBi as a full service digital marketing agency which employs over 1,450 professionals located primarily in major European and American business centres, such as Amsterdam, New York, Paris etc.

It provides services related to brand strategy, information architecture, experience architecture, design, testing, launch management etc. LBi India will be headquartered in Mumbai.

The company will bring its complete bouquet of offerings for servicing Indian clients and also serve overseas clients from its India centres, said Mr Kapadia.

The company had signalled its intention to enter India in April last year when it had acquired a 51 per cent ownership share in Vizualize Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai-based technology development and support company.

LBi will channelise the investments to increase its India headcount and for establishing presence in major Indian cities. Mumbai will be the base for LBi India.

“Our strategy is to focus our capabilities into one organisation and have satellite offices which we will be the local client interface. Going forward, we intend to be in cities such as Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad etc,” said Mr Kapadia.

LBi will have offices in Dubai and either Hong Kong or Singapore by 2009 end. LBi India intends to get listed on the Indian bourses by 2010, said Mr Kapadia. It is currently starting with seven clients in the domestic space and 50 overseas clients.
