On the surge

This refers to the editorial, “Uphill road” (Business Line, March 28). No doubt, after the Corus acquisition, the Tatas have set another landmark in the history of their surging growth.

But as a giant corporate with lot of investment by shareholding from the general public, there should have been more transparency.

There could be doubts in the minds of investors as to how the funding could be arranged and whether the cost of such funding would cost dear to all concerned. The Corus deal brought mixed reactions initially. The JLR deal would undoubtedly help the Tatas bring out challenging models in the luxury car segment.

The entire car industry will get a boost through this deal.

A giant leap indeed!
