Pay Commission

The Sixth Pay Commission recommendations are not so disappointing in terms of monetary benefits to employees as they are with regard to restructuring the administration.

Reforms such as lateral entry, Web-based central staffing pattern and Performance Related Incentive Scheme seem to have been recommended so tentatively as not to upset the hierarchical equations. Despite the “bonus for babus”, the citizens will continue to feel short-changed.
