Privileged port

— K.K. Mustafah

Distinction for Kochi: Queen Victoria, a luxury cruise vessel, arrived in Kochi last week. The number of luxury cruise liners that arrived at the Kochi port reached an all-time high of 41 during 2007-08. The port had earned this distinction in cruise tourism by surpassing major sea ports such as Mumbai, Goa and New Mangalore . Around 22,000 passengers and 10,000 crew members have visited Kochi during the year in these 41 ships.
