Online pension payouts

Madurai, April 2

The District Collector, Mr S.S. Jawahar, launched on Tuesday the instant online identification and disbursal of pension to pensioners in the district treasury here. Part of an e-governance initiative, the software for muster computing has been developed by The National Informatics Centre. Scanned images of pensioners with the Pension Pay Order number are stored for verification of 26,546 pensioners in the district. The online mustering will help speedy disbursal of pension and return of pension books immediately. The pensioners can approach any of the 25 users such as Treasury Officer, Additional Treasury Officer and others, the Collector said on the occasion.
