Vizag Steel treatment plant
Visakhapatnam, April 2
As part of the expansion project, the civil works for the
mechanical, biological and chemical treatment plant
at the fourth coke oven battery began at the
Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Wednesday, according to a
press release. Mr A.K. Banerjee, Executive Director
(Projects), inaugurated the civil works of the Rs 55-crore
project awarded to HSCL. The project, says the press
release, is scheduled to be completed by June 2009. The
capacity of the Visakhapatnam steel plant is being
enhanced to 6.3 million tonnes from the present 3 mt at a
cost of Rs 8,600 crore. - Our Bureau
