Mergers & Acquisitions Royal Orchid stake in Goa resort Mumbai, April 3 Royal Orchid, the Bangalore-based hotel group, has picked up a 50 per cent stake in a resort in Goa for Rs 17 crore. The company would be investing another Rs 10 crore for the renovation of the property. Mr Chander Baljee, Chairman and Managing Director of the company told Business Line, “The property by the name of Galaxy Beach Resort is in South Goa on Utorda beach. It has cottages giving it a resort layout.” Royal Orchid Hotels will own th e property along with Vascon Engineers Pvt Ltd, which is the partner of the company for a property in Pune as well. This beach resort with a 65-room capacity would be renovated in phases and have the mark of Royal Orchid hotels, Mr Baljee said. “The property will not be closed down.
