NMPT to celebrate Maritime Day tomorrow

Mangalore, April 3 The National Maritime Day Celebration Committee at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) will celebrate the 45th National Maritime Day on April 5. Addressing presspersons here, Capt K.V. Vaswani, Deputy Conservator of NMPT, said the main objective of celebrating the day is to enable the public to know more about the activities of the shipping industry and the important role it plays in the economy. The theme for this year’s Maritime Day celebration is ‘Solving the manning crisis in maritime industry’.

Mr M. Ajit Kumar, Commissioner, Commissionerate of Central Excise, Mangalore, will release the Merchant Navy Flag for sale on April 5. Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of NMPT, will preside over the function, he said.
