Kochi, April 3 Sahara with its real estate business enters South India with the launch of its Sahara Grace brand of residential complex at Kochi.

Kochi project is the third brand of the company after Sahara Grace at Gurgaon and Lucknow and the brand is positioned to provide a product mix of apartments and penthouses and many value added facilities and amenities to customers, Mr Sunderlal, Sales Head, Sahara’s Real Estate Business, said at a press meet here on Thursday.

The Kochi project is located at Seaport-Airport road in Kakkanad and offers residential and commercial facilities designed for the high income group customers. The project with a total investment of Rs 300 crore will be completed in three and a half years time, he said.

It is spread on 14.72 acres and proposes to house 728 residential units.

With a total built up area of 1,68,670 sq metres, the project comprises a mix of 2 to 4 bedroom apartments, 3 and 4 bedroom duplex apartments and penthouses.

It will also have facilities such as swimming pool, health club and gymnasium.

As a safety measure for protection of life and property from earthquake, construction is designed at one level higher than the applicable seismic zone as per the specifications of Bureau of Indian Standards.

He said the company is already in the process of acquiring land in various parts of the State and about 20 more projects are in the pipeline in the entire South, he said.

To a question whether the real estate market is facing any down turn, he pointed out that the real estate is still the safest form of investment. There could be slight correction but there would not be any stagnation, he said adding, that correction is good for the market.
