DenuoSource sets up second KPO centre

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, April 3 The US-based DenuoSource plans to tap the emerging opportunities in the retail and healthcare sectors in India through its expertise in providing solutions to corporates in the sales and marketing space.

The company is in talks with big retailers in the country. It has established a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) centre in the Hitech city of Hyderabad to exploit the opportunities, according to Mr Amrit P. Kirpalani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The KPO, which is the second facility in India (the first one also in Hyderabad has about 40 associates), will have 75 associates (mostly MBAs and PhDs). The number would be scaled up to 150 by the end of 2008, he told newspersons here on Thursday.

Without disclosing financials of the company or investments in India, Mr Kirpalani said DeunoSource , promoted by him and Mr Rahul Chowdhury, President & CPO, in 2006, had raised private equity from Dena Li Partners of Minneapolis in January 2007.

DeunoSource is also expanding globally with centres in Central Europe by the middle of 2008 and another one in Dubai. “We will look at strategic partners and investors with high professional capabilities (or advisory role players) to come onto the company,” Mr Rahul said.

“India is turning into a very expensive option now. But, the talent pool is still high. However, countries such as Romania could offer options in the near future,” he said.
