Jet, Japan’s ANA tie up for frequent flier scheme

Our Bureau

Mumbai, April 7 Jet Airways and Tokyo-based ANA plan to commence a code sharing and network-wide reciprocal frequent flier partnership effective May 21, subject to regulatory approval, said a statement from Jet.

‘First of its kind’

The company said that this agreement would be first of its kind between an Indian and Japanese carrier. Jet Airways will place its flight code, 9W, on ANA’s daily business jet flights between Mumbai and Tokyo Narita.

Both airlines will link their frequent flier programmes, allowing Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege members to accrue and redeem miles on ANA operated flights, and members of ANA’s Mileage Club programme to do the same on all flights operated by Jet Airways.

The statement said ANA operates a Boeing 737-700ER in an exclusive all-business class configuration of 36 seats between Mumbai and Tokyo.

Flight increase

The route was inaugurated on September 1, 2007 on a six flights per week basis, with a planned increase to seven flights a week from April 11.
